Precision plastics machining with the Biesse Rover Plast B FT
PAG
The Biesse Rover Plast B FT is a CNC machining centre designed for processing plastic sheets and composite materials. This machine enables the production of complex shapes and customer-specific components. Its combination of a large working area, digital control and automated machining operations makes it suitable for both one-off components and series production.
CNC technology for complex machining operations
The Biesse Rover Plast B FT is a gantry-type CNC machining centre capable of milling, drilling and creating cut-outs or grooves in plastic sheets. The milling head follows digitally programmed contours, allowing components with intricate shapes or specific dimensions to be manufactured with high precision. Depending on the configuration, the machine can be equipped with multiple machining axes and automatic tool changers. This allows different machining operations to be performed within a single production process.
Stable machining with the vacuum table
An important feature of the Rover Plast B FT is its flat FT worktable. During milling, plastic sheets are held securely in place by a vacuum clamping system. This prevents unwanted movement that could affect dimensional accuracy and cut-edge quality.
The vacuum table therefore contributes to a stable machining process, even when working with larger sheet formats.
Optimised material utilisation through nesting
The machine supports nesting, a production method in which multiple components are digitally arranged across a plastic sheet to make optimal use of the available surface area. Different shapes can then be milled within a single machining programme. This helps minimise material waste and reduces the number of separate machining operations required. Nesting is particularly beneficial when producing multiple components from the same material.
From digital design to finished plastic component
The Rover Plast B FT offers machining capabilities for a wide range of applications, including technical machine components, cover plates and plastic parts with specific contours. A digital design forms the basis of the machining programme. This programme can be reused for repeat orders, ensuring that components are manufactured to the same specifications.
